See why we are nervous?? These are preliminary results and I gather some may be recounted.

wow you on form JG….we are nervous i feel like going to my bed and just wake up and hear the answer, i cant take the suspense.
Im sure this isnt live though as portia’s seat is NOT declared…last i checked the JLP were in the lead….is this a forecast?
Shonari…surely you are joking about Portia’s seat! There is no man, woman, child or animal who will beat Portia or Bruce so you might as well know that it has been declared….
lol, well we can hope
Sad to say but it looks like pnp…sigh. as ive been saying, the people who want the change not voting.
Don’t be so hasty yet Shonari…..it is still early.
What do you gather so far?
Looks like Portia got 95% of the votes in her constituency unlike the usual 150% that she used to get back in the day!
Still too close….please let JLP win.
What do you think will happen tomorrow if pnp/jlp win?
It seems as if the JLP are going to take it home, Portia’s speech sucked, as was expected she started getting repetitive as usual…pfft. Now let’s see what Bruce has to say, he cant confirm his victory yet though
Shonari….bwoy mi nuh know wah fi seh….the constitution thing is going to be the deciding factor…..
I think portia was a bitter…she didnt concede, thats tacky… tomorrow is gonna be a day, there is the dual citizenship case and the recount, with a margin of victory so close it is gonna be a very rocky victory.
Shonari….I am not making one comment. I think that they need to sort it out ASAP. There is going to be a lot of problems if they don’t sort it out quickly.
Well it has been announced it’s JLP: 31 Seats, PNP: 29 Seats…that’s really to close to call, as a matter of fact you cant even call it a win. There’s word on the street that Babsy Grange and Andrew Wholeness are planning to switch over to PNP, if they should do that then the PNP would automagically become government, so in logic the people would not be the ones who decide the government.
Now that is the reason for my title “Not Necessarily a Win for the JLP”….we can wake up tomorrow morning and hear that someone from the JLP decided to switch over to the PNP and if that happens then there’s a tie..30 30, if that happens then the Governer General would step in….hmmm serious times people serious times we’ll wait on the outcome
Shonari – NO…I just want peace for Jamaica.
lol ok ok…my bad
No tact, no form of statesmanship and a down right disgrace to the Jcan people. To not concede and to publicly say that JLP tief and what not, like a market woman pon di roadside is not befitting of the Primary representative for our country on the world stage.
To do that (and publicly) is to insight violence amongst the Jamaican people. Fueled by what they consider gospel the havoc wreakers will use that as an excuse to cause damage to the nation.
Concede and wait until the electoral procedures are completed. tell your party supporters that they fought a brave fight etc and wait…. then if after the recount is still not satisfactory you use the other… tactful avenues made available
Portia, fire your PR committee, they did a shabby job.
Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.
Shonari, I agree….she did not handle it well. The problem with Portia is that she keeps listening to that husband and wife team (The Burkes) and I don’t know if I have much faith in them.
Portia should have given a speech of hope and peace….after she said what she said….it’s almost like she let out school without a proper dismissal.
Shonari and Jamaican Girl, I concur totally.Ms Simpson Miller should have been more tactful and sophisticated regarding her speech/address last evening, which in essence was not a speech conceding defeat. She should have told her supporters, party stalwarts, and diehards, that they fought an extremely gallant and noble fight, although victory was not theirs, as a consequence of the arithmetical configuration of the seats in terms of a 31 to 29 JLP/PNP and the Jamaican electorate/people have spoken in this regard.Notwithstanding as a venerable and bold party ,we the PNP will live to fight another day.And definitely, instill in such individuals, the values of hope, respect, peace and unity regarding the JLP in particular and Jamaican society in general going into the future .Ms. Simpson Miller eschewed such an approach, but in all honesty, she needs to concede graciously and let the electoral procedures run its logical course or extension until completed. And if the recount necessitates or warrants further action, constitutionally, legally, or otherwise, utilize the necessary vehicles and mechanisms available to address same. Ms. Simpson Miller’s conduct has placed the nation in an extremely precarious position vis-a-vis potential violence and sundry forms of social disorder, specifically with respect to the lunatic fringes of both political parties. Hopefully, one is wrong in this regard, and as a society ,we do not precipitiously fall down such a slippery slope.Interestingly, one of the main reason- but not the only reason- why I was so vehemently opposed to Ms.Simpson Miller being Prime Minister, is/are the very reasons being articulated and advanced by both you and Shonari,i.e.,no sense of class, statemanship, taste, decorum, grace, protocol, and politesse as evidenced in her speech last evening. And indeed, Jamaica can and must do better in the recruitment of its political elites who/that aspire to the highest office of the land. Ms. Simpson Miller in essence is not a national leader, but probably the greatest tribalist leader Jamaica has produced to date and is a total disgrace to the Jamaican people.RESPECT ! PEACE ! BLESSINGS ! UNITY !

I must join in saying that while I do not believe Portia should concede yet (I still blame Al Gore for conceding to early!), it troubles me that she made such comments.
There is a way to go about these things and she needs to be much much more careful with her choice of words. Michael Manley and Edward Seaga may have been rivals, but they were Statesmen first and were careful about their words, knowing full well what words can lead to.
It is time that ‘leaders’ actually behave like ‘leaders’
